The Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) is conducting a brief study to better understand challenges employers experience when completing and returning Form G-251A, Job Information Form. See the PDF version of this program letter for a sample G-251A.
Form G-251A Background
Form G-251A is an RRB form used in the occupational disability determination process. The purpose is to collect detailed, employer provided information about an employee’s regular railroad occupation, including physical and mental demands, skills and tasks required, tools, equipment, environmental conditions, and overall job duties. This information is used by RRB disability examiners to support the disability determination process.
Employer Feedback Survey
We are launching a survey beginning at 9 a.m. CST on Monday, June 15, 2026, to gather input from employers and assess how we might improve the G-251A response process. We will release an e-mail that contains a link to the survey to disability, executive, and global contact officials.
We estimate the G-251A Job Information Form Feedback Survey will take an average of five to ten minutes to complete. The survey will remain open for 10 business days and close on Friday, June 26, 2026. Your responses will not affect any specific disability claims.
